Burbank Temple Emanu El is a progressive synagogue with a rich tradition of praying, learning, and celebrating together. We have always invited new members from a variety of backgrounds and histories of religious observance and levels of involvement in Jewish life to join us in our community project of spiritual, social and intellectual development.

Our congregation unites throughout the year to observe the events of the Jewish calendar and to share the significant moments of our members’ lives. Together we read the Torah each Shabbat and celebrate the Jewish holidays. We gather when our fellow congregants celebrate births, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and weddings or mourn the loss of loved ones.

BTEE members play an active part in determining our synagogue’s direction and planning the activities and programs in which we all take part, from setting the Hebrew School curriculum to planning our great parties and social events to volunteering with local service organizations. Representative groups from our congregation have taken trips to Israel, designed the gardens on our grounds, and have hosted dinners at Home Again LA. And our annual congregational Shabbaton camp retreat is always a blast.

We welcome guests interested in BTEE to join us for a service or attend one of our many events throughout the year. And then we hope you’ll want to join us for more.

New Members receive a one-time 50% reduction for the first year of Regular Membership, which includes ECC families the first year after the last child graduates. Reduction does not apply to Associate Membership.

Please note you will receive a statement with your selected dues amounts, and any additional fees. Payment terms are available. Statements are sent monthly.

Sisterhood

Sisterhood members invest their time with community-building activities, fundraising, and supporting families throughout Judaic life-cycle events. This group is a great resource of support and friendship, kinship and camaraderie for all women in our community.

Youth Group
Led by a Youth Director, the pre-teens and teens at BTEE have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of leadership, social action, and being part of the Jewish community.

Kadima (4th - 6th graders) and USY (7th - 12th graders) are programs through the USCJ.
These programs include recreational activities, holiday celebrations, leadership development, weekend retreats, community service projects and more.
